Week of July 23  - July 29, 2018

"If only we would see with the eyes of God!  But because we look with the eyes of mortal narrowness and selfishness, we see life distorted.  When we open our inner eye, we behold the Light of God."

Paramahansa Yogananda

Announcements:

• Our monthly all-day meditation retreat will be held this Saturday, July 28. This month we will have an open, 12 hour non-conducted meditation from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. You are welcome to join us at any time but we ask that you sign in when you arrive and that you enter and exit the chapel quietly.

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held next Saturday, August 4. We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. If you are planning to attend, we request that you please inform Sudha by emailing him at vasudhaven@yahoo.com as this will help us to organize head count for the lunch on the Day of Service. You can also RSVP by filling out the sign-up sheet located in the chapel foyer.

• Guruji said that “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”  Our Center hosts group meditations every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month. Meditations last about 45 minutes, along with a reading and chants. Devotees may enter or leave the service quietly at any time. We hope that you are able to attend.

• All activities and events organized by the Houston Center are carried out by dedicated members and friends and we always welcome new volunteers. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to volunteer, please let us know by emailing us at srfhouston@gmail.com.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
