Week of February 19 - February 25, 2018

“Your joy must flow from the fountain of your realized soul.  Your smile must spread over all souls you meet and over all the universe.  Your every look should reflect your joyous soul and spread its contagion to gloom-drunk minds."

Paramahansa Yogananda

• Our monthly all-day meditation retreat will be held this Saturday, February 24. This month we will have an open, 12 hour non-conducted meditation from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. You are welcome to join us at any time but we ask that you sign in when you arrive and that you enter and exit the chapel quietly.

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held next Saturday, March 3. We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. If you are planning to attend, we request that you please inform Sudha by emailing him at vasudhaven@yahoo.com as this will help us to organize head count for the lunch on the Day of Service. You can also RSVP by filling out the sign-up sheet located in the chapel foyer.

• As previously announced, our Houston Center will be hosting a Public Lecture and Kriya Tour from Friday, April 6 to Sunday April 8 with Brother Bhumananda and Br. Lynn. The public lecture entitled ‘Finding inner peace through meditation’ will be held on Friday April 6 at the Unity Church from 7:00 pm onward and all are welcome to attend. Flyers  for the public lecture are now available in the chapel foyer and we especially need volunteers to help us with distribution of the flyers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Saraj Gupta or Surendra. We also encourage all our members and friends to help us spread the word through “bring-a-friend” campaign by inviting your friends and family members to attend the public lecture on Friday, April 6.

• All activities and events organized by the Houston Center are carried out by dedicated members and friends and we always welcome new volunteers. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to volunteer, please let us know by emailing us at srfhouston@gmail.com.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
