This Week's Services:

Please join us this Sunday, December 31 or our weekly Service Reading entitled “Higher Achievements in the New Year.”   The service is from 11 am to 12 noon. Sunday School for children ages 3-12 is also held from 11 am to 12 noon.  Parents with younger children may enjoy the service from the infant room located in the Sunday School building.  The Reading Service is preceded by a meditation service from 10 to 10:45 am, and by group practice of the Self-Realization Fellowship Energization Exercises at 9:40am The Center is open to the public for services and special activities.

Announcements:

• As the year 2017 draws to a close, the Managing team would like to wish you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year 2018. Guruji said "Let us forget the sorrows of the past and make up our minds not to dwell on them in the New Year. With determination and unflinching will, let us renew our lives, our good habits, and our successes. If the last year has been hopelessly bad, the New Year must be hopefully good."

 

• The New Year's Eve Meditation will be held in the chapel this Sunday, December 31 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

 

• Please note there will be No Sunday School class on December 31.

 

• On Thursday, January 5 we will have the Birthday Commemorative Service for Paramahansa Yogananda from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The service will be preceded by a meditation beginning at 7:00 pm. All devotees who are acquainted with the Guru-disciple relationship are welcome to attend. Please bring a flower or flowers, and a monetary offering in an envelope. The donations will be sent to Self-Realization Fellowship.

 

• As a reminder, Houston Center is an official 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions made to the Center are charitable donations and are tax-deductible.

 

• All activities and events organized by the Houston Center are carried out by dedicated members and friends and we always welcome new volunteers. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to volunteer, please let us know by emailing us at srfhouston@gmail.com.
