Week of August 21  - August 27, 2017

"Life should be chiefly service. Without that ideal, the intelligence that God has given you is not reaching out toward its goal.  When in service you forget the little self, you will feel the big Self of Spirit."

Announcements:

• Our monthly meditation retreat is scheduled for this Saturday, August 26 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. All are welcome to attend at any time during the day, but we ask that you enter or exit the chapel only during chants or readings.

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held on Saturday, September 02 starting at 8:30 am. We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. If you are planning to attend, please let Diane know by emailing her at Di.Montano@att.net as this will help us to organize head count for lunch on the Day of Service. You can also RSVP by filling out the sign-up sheet located in the chapel foyer.

• Guruji said that “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”  Our Center hosts group meditations every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month. Meditations last about 45 minutes, along with a reading and chants. Devotees may enter or leave the service quietly at any time. We hope that you are able to attend.

• All activities and events organized by the Houston Center are carried out by dedicated members and friends and we always welcome new volunteers. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to volunteer, please let us know by emailing us at srfhouston@gmail.com.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
