This Week's Services:

Please join us this Sunday, May 14 for our weekly Service Reading entitled “Mothers: Manifestations of God's Love."  The service is from 11 am to 12 noon. Sunday School for children ages 3-12 is also held from 11 am to 12 noon. Parents with younger children may enjoy the service from the infant room located in the Sunday School building. The Reading Service is preceded by a meditation service from 10 to 10:45 am, and by group practice of the Self-Realization Fellowship Energization Exercises at 9:40am The Center is open to the public for services and special activities.

• This Saturday, May 13, our Chapel will remain open from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm for open meditation.


• Our next Harmonium Workshop will be held this Sunday, May 14 in the chapel. This workshop is open to all members and friends who are interested in either joining the Kirtan Group or would simply like to learn how to play the SRF cosmic chants on the harmonium. If you own a personal harmonium, we request that you please bring it with you to the workshop. If you have any questions about the workshop, or do not have a harmonium of your own, you may contact Arjun by emailing him at arjunraghuraman@gmail.com.


• Our next meeting of the Bhagavad Gita Study Group will be held in the chapel next Sunday, May 21 at 12:30pm. This group is open to all members and friends who wish to read and meditate upon Paramahansa Yogananda’s spiritual interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita – God Talks with Arjuna. We hope that you are able to attend.


• Our Houston Center Library is currently being upgraded and replenished.  We invite devotees who wish to donate gently used SRF CD’s, DVD’s, or books to please place them in the donation box located by the library in the Sunday School building.


• As previously announced, our third annual India Night event will be held on Saturday, May 27 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm on our chapel grounds. We encourage everyone to RSVP by next Wednesday, May 17 either by visiting our website www.srfhouston.org or by filing out the sign-up sheet in the foyer. A suggested donation of $20 per adult and $10 per child is requested to attend this event. Your donations will be used towards the construction of a new Multi-Purpose Building, as well as to cover the costs of the India Night event. Donations can be made either online through our website or in person by cash or check. Checks can be made out to "Houston Meditation Group" with the memo indicating "India Night Event". For cash donations, please put your donation amount in an envelope and place it in the basket in the Chapel foyer.

• All children and teens between the ages of 7 to 18 are invited to the SRF Summer Day Program in Encinitas, California. This program ushers in a new era of training for youth in our Guru’s How-to-Live spiritual principles. With guidance from SRF monastics, teens and children will have an opportunity to deepen their relationship with God, learn SRF techniques of meditation, engage in fun activities and create friendships with spiritually-minded peers. The girls week will be June 26-30 and the boys week July 3-7. Please see the flyer located in the chapel foyer, or visit the SRF website home page and click on “2017 Youth Events.”  For those from out-of-town, there are nearby state beach campgrounds and a list of nearby motels is also available on the SRF website. We recommend that you make your reservations as soon as possible because accommodations fill up quickly during the summer months. Scholarships are available for the Summer Day Program.
