Week of December 12 - December 18, 2016

“We are here today; tomorrow we are gone, mere shadows in a cosmic dream.  But behind the unreality of these fleeting pictures is the immortality of Spirit.  Life here on earth appears futile and chaotic until we are anchored in the Divine.”

                                                      - Paramahansa Yogananda

Announcements:

• Our all-day Christmas Meditation will be held in the chapel this Saturday, December 17 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please bring a fruit and a donation in an envelope as a devotional offering. A table with baskets will be arranged in the foyer for your fruit offerings and monetary donations. We encourage all members and guests to please arrive early to get settled and to practice the Energization Exercises on your own. The Sunday School building will be open and setup for meditation in case you arrive late, or for those coming only to the afternoon portion of the service. If you have a cold or cough it is best if you meditate at home and be in tune with the group. You may bring your own meditation arm rest as we only have a few available in the chapel. If you plan to write a check, please ensure that it is made out to Self-Realization Fellowship.

• This Sunday, December 18 we will have our annual Christmas potluck lunch immediately after services in the Sunday School building. If you would like to contribute with a dish, please email Carol at carol.curro@sbcglobal.net or fill out the sign-up form which will be placed in the Chapel foyer.

• Please note that there will be no Sunday School class on Sunday, December 25. Parents and children attending can observe the service in the infant room.

• We are always in need of more volunteers to help in the numerous tasks required for the upkeep of our chapel and grounds. We are especially in need of volunteers to serve in Housekeeping, Juice Social and Ushers Committee. If you are interested in helping, please contact a member of the Managing Team or by emailing us at srfhouston@gmail.com
