Week of July 25  - July 31, 2016

“The Lord is found through unceasing devotion.  When you want only the Giver, and not His gifts, then He will come to you.”

Weekly Affirmation:

‘’In the solitude of my mind I yearn to hear Thy voice.  Take away the dreams of earthly sounds that yet lurk in my memory.  I want to hear Thy quiet voice ever singing in the silence of my soul.’’

Announcements:

• Our Chapel will remain open this Saturday, July 30 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm for open meditation.

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held on Saturday, August 06.   We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. We encourage everyone to join us and share this special day of Service and Fellowship with other devotees. A delicious vegetarian lunch will be provided for all those who attend, so please email Sudha (vasudhaven@yahoo.com) to help us get an accurate headcount.

• Our next Kirtan Workshop will be held on Sunday, August 14 in the chapel. This workshop is open to all members and friends who are interested in either joining the Kirtan Group or would simply like to learn how to play the SRF cosmic chants on the harmonium. If you own a personal harmonium, we request that you please bring it with you to the workshop. If you have any questions about the workshop, or do not have a harmonium of your own, you may contact Arjun or send an email to srfhouston@gmail.com

• All activities and events organized by the Houston Center are carried out by dedicated members and friends and we always welcome new volunteers. If you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to volunteer, please let us know by contacting a member of the Managing Team or by sending an email to srfhouston@gmail.com.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
