Week of May 30 - June 05, 2016

To me there is neither Jew, nor Christian, nor Hindu; all are my brothers.  I worship in all the temples, for each of them has been erected to honor my Father.’’

Announcements:

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held on Saturday, June 04. We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. We encourage everyone to join us and share this special day of Service and Fellowship with other devotees. A delicious vegetarian lunch will be provided for all those who attend, so please email Sudha (vasudhaven@yahoo.com) to help us get an accurate headcount.

• On Sunday, June 05 we will be re-screening a short film that was made of this year’s India Night event.  The movie will be shown after service at approximately 12:30pm and will last about 20 minutes.   We encourage all to come relive and enjoy that wonderful evening all over again.

• Our next Kirtan Workshop will be held next Sunday, June 12 in the chapel. This workshop is open to all members and friends who are interested in either joining the Kirtan Group or would simply like to learn how to play the SRF cosmic chants on the harmonium. If you own a personal harmonium, we request that you please bring it with you to the workshop. If you have any questions about the workshop, or do not have a harmonium of your own, you may contact Arjun by emailing him at arjunraghuraman@gmail.com.

• Guruji said that “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”  Our Center hosts group meditations every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month. Meditations last about 45 minutes, along with a reading and chants. Devotees may enter or leave the service quietly at any time. These meditations are an excellent way to stay in tune with with God and Gurus throughout the week.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
