Week of February 8 - February 14, 2016

“Solitude is the price of God-realization.  Wake, waste no more time trying to seek Him blindly, but follow the tested methods that lead to Self-Realization''

 - Paramahansa Yogananda

This Week's Services:

Please join us this Sunday, February 14th for our weekly Service Reading entitled “The Inner Meaning of Self-Realization.”  The service is from 11 am to 12 noon. Sunday School for children ages 3-12 is also held from 11 am to 12 noon. Parents with younger children may enjoy the service from the infant room located in the Sunday School building. The Reading Service is preceded by a meditation service from 10 to 10:45 am, and by group practice of the Self-Realization Fellowship Energization Exercises at 9:40 am. The Center is open to the public for services and special activities.

Weekly Affirmation:

“O Father, show me the highway that leads to Thee.  Give me bursting aspirations of the heart.  In the echo of devotion teach me to hear Thy voice.”

(Metaphysical Meditations)

• This Saturday, February 13th, the chapel will remain open from 12:00pm to 3:00pm for open meditation.

• On Sunday, February 14, we will have our Annual election of Service Readers and Sunday School Teachers and Aides immediately after service in the chapel. All active members are encouraged to attend.

• The next meeting of the Bhagavad Gita Study Group will be held in the chapel next  Sunday, February 21st at 12:30pm. This group is open to all members and friends who wish to read and meditate upon Paramahansa Yogananda’s spiritual interpretation of the Bhagavad Gita – God Talks with Arjuna.  We hope that you are able to attend.

• Guruji said that “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.”  Our Center hosts group meditations every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month. Meditations last about 45 minutes, along with a reading and chants. Devotees may enter or leave the service quietly at any time. These meditations are an excellent way to stay in tune with with God and Gurus throughout the week.
