Week of September 29-October 05, 2014

No joy is real except that of the Spirit. But unless your heart cries for God, you cannot know Him. The hearts of worldly people become dry as dust. Why? Because they cry for everything except God. You must cry for the Lord! Cry for Him, who, if you would but realize it, is already yours."

This Week's Services:

Please join us this Sunday,October 05 for our weekly Service Reading entitled “Live in Constant Remembrance of God”. The service is from 11 am to 12 noon. Sunday School for children ages 3-12 is also held from 11 am to 12 noon. Parents with younger children may enjoy the service from the infant room located in the Sunday School building. The Reading Service is preceded by a meditation service from 10 to 10:45 am, and by group practice of the Self-Realization Fellowship Energization Exercises at 9:40 am. The Center is open to the public for services and special activities.

Weekly Affirmation:

“Divine Spirit, I will seek Thee until I find Thee. Finding Thee I will reverently receive whatever gifts it is Thy desire I should have. But I ask nothing throughout eternity save the complete gift of Thyself.”

(Metaphysical Meditations)

• Guruji said that “Group Meditation is a castle that protects the new spiritual aspirants as well as the veteran meditators. Meditating together increases the degree of Self-realization of each member of the group by the law of invisible vibratory exchange of group magnetism.” Our Center hosts group meditations every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 PM and from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on the first Thursday of the month. Meditations last about 45 minutes, along with a reading and chants. Devotees may enter or leave the service quietly at any time. These meditations are an excellent way to prepare for our upcoming Silent Retreat at New Braunsfels from Friday, October 31 to Sunday, November 01.

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held this Saturday, October 04 starting at 8:00 am. We dedicate only one day a month to the care and upkeep of Master’s sanctuary in Houston so that it remains a magnet for those seeking to meditate together or to learn of Self-Realization Fellowship for the first time. If you are planning to attend, please let Frank know by emailing him at frank.nadembega@gmail.com as this will help us to organize head count for lunch on the Day of Service.

• On Thursday, October 30, we will be having a Guided Meditation and Satsanga in our chapel from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, which will be led by SRF Monastics - Brother Naradananda and Brahmachari Gordon. In order to prepare for this special event, we highly encourage everyone to attend our weekly Thursday evening meditations.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
