Week of August 4th - August 10th, 2014

The law of miracles is operable by any man who has realized that the essence of creation is light. A master is able to employ his divine knowledge of light phenomena to project instantly into perceptible manifestation the ubiquitous light atoms. The actual form of the projection (whatever it be: a tree, a medicine, a human body) is determined by the yogi's wish and by his power of will and of visualization."

Announcements:

• Our next Day of Service and Fellowship will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 16. Due to the rising temperatures and the summer heat, we will plan on starting earlier around 7:30 am and ending the outside work sooner. If you are planning to attend, please let Sudha know by emailing him at vasudhaven@yahoo.com as this will help us to organize the head count for the lunch served on the Day of Service.

• The Janmashtami Commemoration service celebrating the birthday of Bhagavan Krishna will be held on Sunday August 17 beginning at 8 pm. There will be a meditation from 7:00 pm - 7:50 pm.  All devotees who are acquainted with the SRF teachings and the Guru-disciple relationship, are welcome to attend. Devotees are asked to bring a flower or flowers as a symbol of devotion to God and the SRF Gurus, and a donation, if possible, as sign of loyalty to the path of SRF. These donations are sent to the Mother Center to share these sacred teachings with other truth-seeking souls.

• We will be having a General Membership Meeting on Sunday, August 24 immediately following the services. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide updates and discuss plans for the upcoming Fall retreat in New Braunsfel, Texas.

• We are continuing to accept donations for the second phase of our Audio-Visual fundraising drive in an effort to raise the remaining $3,500 by Sunday, August 31. If you would like to make a donation, please deposit your cash or check in an envelope in the chapel or you can even make a donation on-line through our website www.srfhouston.org. When making the donation, please indicate that it is for Audio-Visual equipment. If you have any questions about this fundraising drive, please contact a member of the Managing Team.

• Please join us this and every Sunday after the services for our weekly juice social in the Sunday School building.
